Conflict – Positive Management

Pre-work: Completion of Conflict Management Style self-assessment.

The initial segment of this workshop emphasizes methods required to identify and refocus the negatives commonly associated with conflict producing behavior, working toward concrete resolution of issues and evolution of commitment to team building, working together and valuing each member's unique contributions.

Program includes:

  • Identification of potential sources of conflict within the organization
  • Discovery of myths that inhibit positive conflict management
  • Discussion of several conflict management techniques and their appropriate utilization
  • Pragmatic problem solving breakouts to ease conflict-causing dynamics
  • Facilitated individual and team exercises focusing on decision making under duress, elimination of team conflicts, and consensus-building
  • Consideration of types of power, their bases, how they are used, and where they fit in conflict resolution strategies
